Position OverviewWe are looking for an experienced engineering lab technician to support programs, teams, and other lab personnel who have engineering projects and tasks to complete and need hands‑on lab assistance, equipment maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, training, configuration, lab safety and organizational tasks. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our engineering lab and contributing to the on‑time delivery of hardware products and software services.
This person works under limited supervision and is a resource to other engineers by providing expertise in test and debug operations. Works with on a wide variety of telecommunications hardware and software, modules, Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), circuit card assemblies (CCAs), and advanced high‑precision components.
- Candidate maintains, calibrates, and troubleshoots lab equipment when needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Assists engineers in designing and conducting experiments, including setting up equipment and preparing materials.
- Accurately records and analyzes experimental data, ensuring thorough documentation of results.
- Adheres to laboratory safety protocols and maintains a clean and organized workspace. Provides technical support to engineering teams and assists in the development of prototypes and testing procedures.
- Prepares reports if needed on results and findings and has the ability to summarize experimental results and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Works closely with engineers and other technicians to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post‑Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

- Previous experience in a laboratory or engineering environment is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Windows applications, networking equipment, using lab equipment and software; familiarity with software applications and engineering drawings is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to evaluate complex technical information and make informed decisions.
- Works collaboratively in a team setting and can work independently when needed.
- Understanding laboratory safety practices and protocols.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Current Security Clearance preferred.
