We are seeking a Mechanical & Piping Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in the United States, contributing to world‑class project delivery worldwide. The candidate will work on large and small projects, design mechanical systems, and mentor junior engineers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Define project scope and assist the Engineering Manager/Lead Mechanical Engineer with project delivery related to scope, cost and schedule.
- Perform system analyses, establish user requirements, analyze functional and performance requirements, define design criteria, and establish system layouts and designs.
- Prepare engineering calculations: hydraulic modeling, stress analysis, equipment sizing, and tank, pressure vessel and bin design to ensure compliance with user and system requirements.
- Develop technical specifications, data sheets, and 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings.
- Conduct interface management between related systems and participate in design reviews.
- Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates, and assist in proposal preparation.
- Review and evaluate technical work of junior engineers, intermediate engineers, designers, technicians and technologists.
- Assist in the compilation and delivery of monthly engineering status reports and construction supervision as required.
- Manage small capital and maintenance projects and assist in the commissioning of systems onsite.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10–15 years of experience in heavy industry.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations and codes pertinent to mechanical engineering.
- Experience with 3D data‑centric design systems and engineering management systems.
- Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team and coordinate mechanical activities between disciplines.
- Strong supervisory and delegation skills.
- Experience in the use of procedures and workflows in project execution.
