Job Description & How to Apply Below

At EMC, our purpose is simple: build greatness together. We’re a team of problem-solvers tackling complex electrical challenges in the industrial world, designing new solutions and supporting them throughout their lifecycle. We’re growing fast, the industry is evolving even faster, and we’re looking for curious, motivated people who want to grow with us.

The Big Picture

As an Estimator, you’ll be right at the front end of exciting electrical projects. You’ll help identify new opportunities, build accurate estimates, and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and sales teams to win work that matters. If you enjoy digging into plans, working with data, and seeing how projects come together from concept to completion, this role is for you.

This position reports to our Head of Bid Spec and works closely with Product Managers, Division Managers, and the Sales Team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Once you’re here, you’ll:

  • Create detailed project take-offs using bid documents and drawings
  • Build accurate quotes and submittals by reviewing specs and plans
  • Communicate with engineers and other estimators to clarify details (RFIs, updates, and changes)
  • Track market trends and feedback to help improve win rates
  • Keep project files organized and up to date
  • Review and document project changes to ensure proposals stay accurate
  • Help reduce financial risk by following lien and project processes
  • Work within multiple bidding platforms and online databases
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to create strong, competitive proposals
  • Spot new bidding opportunities and programs before others do

What We’re Looking For

You don’t have to check every box—but here’s what helps:

  • Experience with construction estimating and bidding (project management experience is a plus!)
  • Strong customer-focused mindset during pre-sales
  • Willingness to learn EMC’s product lines (VFDs and Power Systems)
  • Solid communication skills—written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail (accuracy matters here)
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel, Word, and similar tools
  • A mindset that aligns with our core values:
    • Care for each other and win as a team
    • Live the law of the harvest
    • Always learning, always improving

Schedule

  • Hours:

    Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Schedule:

    Standard 8-hour shifts
Benefits We Offer
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) & Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Paid time off
  • Life insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program

Why EMC?

Because here, your work matters. You’ll gain real-world experience, collaborate with knowledgeable teammates, and build skills that grow with your career—not just fill a role.
