Leidos National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program is seeking a Telecommunications Engineering Technician to provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Service Area – Engineering Services Group across the United States.
Responsibilities- Review FAA databases and provide input or draft Site Survey Reports (SSR).
- Conduct site surveys to provide input and/or draft Site Survey Reports.
- Coordinate schedules with SSC, ES, and Verizon personnel.
- Draft Project Risk Plans (PRP) and Operational Risk Management Plans (ORMP).
- Generate and/or update drawings, sketches, and artifacts.
- Draft project plans for site preparation activities.
- Coordinate scheduled outages with SSC, Air Traffic and Operations personnel.
- Develop transition plans.
- Resolve schedule conflicts.
- Accompany unbadged personnel at facilities.
- Work with LECs on schedules.
- Develop briefings/information/reports on District status.
- Work with other Districts/SSC on interstate service flows, transitions, cutovers, planning, etc.
- Support District POC and SSCs with day‑to‑day work activities.
- Review and provide comments on Verizon Site Specific Implementation Plans (SSIP).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree (additional experience may be substituted/considered/accepted in lieu of degree).
- Ability to travel up to 75%.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (requires U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency with at least 3 continuous years of residence).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
- 2+ years of experience working with telecommunications systems performing network troubleshooting.
- Proficient working with AutoCAD or similar tools.
- Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA standards, and National Airspace System equipment towers.
- Knowledge of OSHA and general construction and electrical safety standards.
- Knowledge of NAS facilities such as ASR, ATCT, VOR, ARSR, RCAG.
Pay Range: $59,150.00 – $. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
