Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a manager to join its team of Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) professionals. This individual will oversee and manage a department that plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation—engineering drawings, production specifications, schedules and contract modifications—to ensure customer contract requirements are met. They will be responsible for personnel management, execution of tasks, and setting up new programs, including creation of CM plans and baselines.

The manager implements and maintains an Engineering Change Request System, manages product improvements, repairs and new product development, and coordinates with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Program Management, Contracts and government customers to ensure changes are documented appropriately and contractual requirements are met.

Essential Functions
  • Ability to think and draw conclusions quickly, adapt to change, be open to new ideas, take on new responsibilities, handle pressure and adjust plans and priorities to meet changing needs.
  • Plan for and use resources efficiently, look for ways to reduce costs, create accurate and realistic budgets, track and adjust budgets and contribute to budget planning.
  • Define roles and responsibilities, motivate and challenge employees, delegate effectively, reward contributions and manage collaboratively.
  • Have good listening skills, build strong relationships, be flexible/open‑minded, negotiate effectively, solicit performance feedback and handle constructive criticism.
  • Ensure all contractual requirements pertaining to configuration management are implemented and followed on a given program.
  • Validate engineering drawings, specifications, contract deliverables, software documentation, contract modifications and design release documents to ensure compliance with customer contract requirements.
  • Develop, maintain and execute plans to ensure contractual requirements.
  • Analyze proposed changes of product design to determine change classification and effect on overall product and system baselines.
  • Manage functional, allocated and product baselines through change management.
  • Select participants and participate in the Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings.
  • Compile audit information and conduct audits of systems to verify that the baseline documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Obtain customer acceptance of baseline documentation through formal configuration verifications and audits, such as functional configuration and physical configuration audits.
  • Audit subcontractors’ CM documentation policies and procedures to verify compliance with prime contractor requirements.
  • Ensure unique product identifiers for baseline data, systems/subsystems and formal program deliverables are used and track their status with Configuration Status Accounting methodologies.
  • Obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience.
  • Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Experience with Configuration and Change Management processes, techniques, tools, related assignments (System, Hardware, Software) and project work.
  • Experience in a leadership role, communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with configuration management standards, including EIA‑649C.
  • Ability to handle critique from internal and external audits and resolve audit findings, including CARs.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for effective communication with technical and non‑technical teams.
