Job responsibilities:
The Thickening Senior Civil/Structural Engineer is responsible for customer interface and execution and management of complex projects regarding engineering deliverables within scope, schedule, and budget. The Engineer will also be responsible to perform site visits and address customer needs.
- Manages multiple complex projects at the same time without supervision
- Responsible for structural design integrity of project
- Reviews and approves design drawings in coordination with customer specifications
- Responsible to coordinate and manage deliverables from other engineering disciplines (electrical, process, technical writing, etc.)
- Travels to workshops, job sites and rother offices as required in support of equipment problems, installations, and sales efforts
- Works on standardization, product improvement, and R&D efforts of product line
- Provides mentorship and training for newer team members and group as a whole
- Assists operations with manufacturing problems and implementation of low cost sourcing initiatives
- Analyzes complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures
- Participates actively in team environment and contributes to successful completion of team goals
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in civil and structural designs.
- Bachelors of Science in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with a structural emphasis is required.
- Successful completion of PE is required.
- Knowledge of applicable codes for design of equipment components (ASCE 7, AISC, API).
- Knowledge of standard steel fabrication and other manufacturing processes.
- Proficient with engineering design tools (AutoCAD, Solid Works, etc).
- Familiarity with engineering structural analysis tools (STAAD, FEA‑ANSYS, etc).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
