Technical Field Manager

Be Basalte’s technical liaison between our partners, customers and system integrators across the US. You support the system engineering, design, training and deployment of high-end residential projects nationwide. Beyond technical services, you build strong relationships with our integrators as our market reach grows, and you work closely, both remotely and in person, with our support and development teams in Belgium to help shape the future of intelligent home automation.

• Being the primary technical contact for integrators on our US projects, both remotely and on site.
• Resolving complex technical questions and issues in a structured way, and diagnosing and escalating them with our product teams where needed.
• Supporting and training our system integrators as they design and deploy Basalte Home systems.
• Building demo set-ups and engaging with Basalte integrators at trade shows and partner events.
• Capturing insights from the field to influence product development, including through beta testing and documentation reviews.

• Have proven experience in technical support, field engineering or design services for home automation, audio/video or IoT platforms, ideally in the luxury residential market.
• Have hands-on experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting networking, audio/video, HVAC, cameras, Lua-based integration and IoT technology.
• Have strong project management skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and integrators at once.
• Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Work autonomously: take ownership, set priorities, solve problems methodically and get things done.
• Have strong oral and written communication skills, and explain technical topics clearly to integrators and clients.
• Have a personal and professional interest in, and hands-on experience with, lighting, audio, automation, electronics and innovative technology.
• Be able to travel regularly to project sites across the US.
• Be based in Salt Lake City (preferred), or work remotely depending on your location.
