Job Summary
1.Performs financial level approval and review for purchase requests submitted through ePR (Electronic Payment Request), and other systems used by department.
2. Reviews all transactions for accuracy, sufficient funding and proper approvals.
3. Reconciles external financial data with University data and resolves discrepancies.
4. Assists with reviewing, researching, and processing wire payments as needed.
5. Answers questions, helps correct errors, resolves accounting related issues and provides financial or other information as requested.
6. Interprets policies and recommends internal controls.
7. Process and maintain payroll distributions, personnel reallocations, and personnel cost transfers for salary adjustment requests.
8. Review, prepare, and process quarterly PAR and EDR reports.
9. Processes monthly billing and distributes invoices to internal and external customers. Also tracks receivables in HCI's accounting system and follows up on outstanding invoices.
10. Prepares monthly reconciliations for shared resources.
11. Prepares the annual report by the University and federal regulations (Uniform Guidance).
12. Provides guidance to colleagues in the Finance, Research Administration, and General Administration departments.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus two years professional accounting experience. Also required are a thorough knowledge of established accounting principles and practices, knowledge of accounting software, advanced spreadsheet skills, the ability to write queries and macros and demonstrated analytical, problem solving, human relations and effective communication skills.
Certifications as a Certified Public Accountant may be preferred for certain positions.
