Clinical Research, Research Scientist
A post-doctoral fellow position at the University of Utah School of Medicine is being opened for research into the causes of multiple sclerosis. This project is sponsored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and will last for 3 years. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the search for pathogens and antigens associated with MS.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a Ph.D.
-level bench scientist who has skills and recent experience with nucleic acid extraction from clinical materials, quality control, sequence analysis, and RT-PCR. Recent hands-on experience with deep sequencing, protein expression, immunoassays (ELISA and Western Blot), retro virology, and the analysis of large datasets would be very helpful. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. The job will require preparation of manuscripts for publication, regular presentations at group meetings, assistance with reports and grant applications, and collaboration with other scientists and clinicians in the field.
