The Division of Cardiology seeks a motivated, enthusiastic Physician Assistant to join our Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) team. The role is primarily outpatient based, focusing on the Redwood and Redstone community clinic locations, with possible participation in outreach clinics. You will coordinate patient care with physicians, fellows, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other staff to manage patients with cardiac arrhythmias, pacemakers, and defibrillators within a collaborative, patient‑centered environment.
Responsibilities- Assess physical condition of patients through examinations and medical history collection.
- Formulate medical plans based on patient condition.
- Consult with physician(s) regarding patient health care plans and treatment.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient clinical problems and health care needs.
- Perform selected procedures for therapeutic and/or diagnostic reasons within scope of practice.
- Initiate and/or recommend medical drug therapies or other related treatment and procedures in accordance with approved policy.
- Comply with medical records policies for complete and accurate documentation, maintaining required records and legal documents.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Educate patients regarding medical conditions and promote health maintenance.
- Evaluate, plan, implement, and re‑evaluate care of individuals requiring emergency measures.
- Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in Utah.
- Current RQI Healthcare Provider e‑Credential through the University of Utah Health RQI system (to be obtained within 30 days of hire).
- Specialty experience in Cardiac Electrophysiology preferred.
- Certification in ACLS, BLS, NRP, or ATLS (as required by department).
- Utah State prescriptive privileges.
- Immunization per CDC and hospital policies.
