YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE

• Analyze food/pharmaceutical samples, determine component concentrations, and post results.
• Perform extractions (Cholesterol, FAP, ICP, MOJO, FFA, etc.) and apply distillation, solvent extraction, and acid digestion processes.
• Maintain chemistry quality control records, procedures, and documentation for each test.
• Wash glassware, prepare samples, and prepare standards or reagents needed for analysis.
• Operate Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and other instrument data systems to process client data.
• Keep the laboratory clean by washing countertops, sweeping floors, and storing analysis materials.
• Investigate customer complaints and non‑conformances; determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Review batches and respond to out‑of‑specification results or questionable data.
• Maintain equipment records in appropriate software systems and meet housekeeping schedules on time.
• Identify departures from the quality system or test procedures, document observations per the non‑conformance system, and notify the supervisor.
• Support laboratory management in implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the management system.
• Adhere to all safety policies and perform other related tasks as needed.

• Basic knowledge of instrumentation and theory (HPLC, GC, ICP, AA) is helpful.
• Basic knowledge of food science is helpful for analyzing chemical content of samples.
• Associate’s degree required;
  Bachelor’s preferred.
• One‑to‑two‑year experience; general knowledge of chemistry to perform analyses.
• General knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Laboratory Instrument Data systems to process client data.
• Broad knowledge of analytical chemistry to perform analysis procedures.
• Manual dexterity needed to pipet samples where required.
• Analytical skills necessary for completion of tasks within the department.
