• Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability
• Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
• Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
• Educate donors on potential hazards and general health
• Provide counseling regarding unacceptable test results
• Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events
• Assess any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability
• Assist in employee training
• Administer the employee hepatitis vaccine program

Educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment to a role such as Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT. A high school diploma or GED and current CPR certification are required. Salary is based on licensure and experience.

• Work performed both standing and sitting for up to 2‑4 hours per day
• Position requires bending and twisting of neck for 1‑2 hours per day
• Frequent hand movements; ability to make fast, simple movements of fingers, hands, and wrists
• Ability to make precise coordinated movements with fingers
• Frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch, or sit on heels on rare occasions, and occasionally walk, bend, and twist at waist
• Light lifting of 15 lbs, maximum lift of 50 lbs, may reach below shoulder height
• Hearing acuity essential; color perception/discrimination; near and far vision correctable to 20/30 and 20/100 respectively
• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly; ability to listen and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences
• Works independently and within guidance of oral or written instructions
• Performs a wide range of tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions
• Relates sensitive information to diverse groups; work performed in a plasma center
• Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms; exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment; exposure to extreme cold below 32°F while performing functions in plasma freezers; personal protective equipment required
