Overview
Brighton/Suncrest Hospice seeks a dedicated Hospice Volunteer to support patients, families, and the hospice team. No prior medical experience required.
Responsibilities- Visit patients at home, assisted living, or skilled nursing facilities
- Assist with letter writing and other projects
- Read aloud or join patients in watching a favorite TV program
- Play games with patients or family members
- Take patients outside for a walk
- Assist with clerical tasks
- Support the bereavement program
- Participate in community outreach
- Increase happiness and reduce stress and anxiety
- Gain a sense of purpose and contribution to society
- Build confidence and self-esteem
- Meet new people and make friends with others passionate about making a difference
