Mental Health Tech - PRN

Responsibilities

Salt Lake Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate team player for our Mental/Behavioral Health Technician

Shifts:

Per Diem (PRN), Days 6am-6pm, Nights 6pm-6am

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour dependent on education and experience

Salt Lake Behavioral Health is a private 118 bed freestanding psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health and substance abuse treatment for adults. PRN expectations:

* Work at least 4 (12 hour) shifts or 48 hours a month

* Available to work 2 weekend or evening shifts of at least 12 hours per shift

* Work all units as needed

* Work 1 major, 1 minor holiday, and 1 hard to staff day

The Mental/Behavioral Health Tech functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from 18 through geriatrics depending on which unit worked. MHT's work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

* Education:

High School Degree or equivalent required. Certified Nursing Assistant preferred;
Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.

* Experience:

One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred, NOT required.

* Licensure:
Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state if transporting patients. Must attend in house CPR and Handle With Care certification.

* Additional Requirements:

May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
