As PDQ’s first dedicated People Ops Business Partner, you’ll play a foundational role in shaping how People Operations supports departments directly. You will support our R&D teams as a trusted advisor, coach, and connector — helping leaders build high‑performing, healthy teams while ensuring employees feel supported, informed, and aligned with PDQ’s values.
What you’ll be doing- Build strong, trust‑based relationships with leaders and employees, becoming a go‑to resource for support, guidance, and problem‑solving.
- Partner closely with R&D leaders through regular consultation on team health, performance expectations, culture, and organizational needs.
- Use people data and engagement survey insights to identify themes, recommend actions, and support leaders in following through on improvements.
- Coach managers on performance management, feedback, development, team dynamics, and maintaining high performance standards.
- Support employee relations matters with discretion and fairness, conducting or supporting investigations and recommending appropriate actions.
- Provide guidance during organizational changes, helping teams navigate transitions with clarity and stability.
- Act as a bridge between R&D and the broader People Ops team, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and smooth execution of People programs and processes.
- Foster a strong, values‑aligned culture within R&D through partnership, coaching, and clarity of PDQ’s expectations and ways of working.
- Support talent planning, onboarding, leveling discussions, and other team‑based programs within R&D.
- Collaborate with the Director of People Operations to design and refine PDQ’s People Partner program, including playbooks, communication practices, and partnership norms.
- Navigate ambiguous situations with judgment, flexibility, and a calm, solution‑oriented approach.
- You are a thoughtful, empathetic, and trusted partner who builds credibility through strong judgment, active listening, and a balanced, people‑centered approach.
- You build strong engagement and culture, taking care of people to support them doing their best work.
- You can hold both employee experience and business needs at once — and help leaders do the same.
- You communicate clearly and handle sensitive conversations with confidence and care.
- You are proactive, dependable, and comfortable influencing leaders, especially in moments that require clarity or coaching.
- Above all, you help teams live PDQ’s values through everyday actions, and you take pride in creating a positive, high‑performing environment for both employees and managers.
- 4–6 years of experience in a People Partner, People Ops Business Partner, HRBP, or related role.
- Experience supporting technical teams or partnering with R&D, Engineering, or Product organizations.
- Strong understanding of employee relations, performance management, coaching, and organizational health.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and influence leaders through insight, communication, and sound decision‑making.
- Experience analyzing people trends and engagement feedback to recommend and drive improvement plans.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to navigate sensitive topics with discretion and professionalism.
- Comfort working in fast‑growing, evolving environments with shifting priorities.
