We’re looking for a hands‑on, experienced Systems Administrator who enjoys owning their environment, solving real problems, and keeping IT running securely and reliably—without the burnout of a full‑time role.
This is a part‑time, on‑site position (about 15–20 hours per week) where you’ll be the steady technical presence supporting a mixed Windows/Linux environment, virtualization, and modern tools. Perfect for a seasoned sysadmin looking for flexibility or someone who enjoys meaningful work without the 40‑hour grind.
What You’ll Be DoingYou’ll be the go‑to person for keeping our systems healthy, secure, and well‑documented:
- Support and maintain Linux servers
- Administer VMware ESXi
- Own backups, disaster recovery planning, and testing
- Support containerized workloads (Docker; Kubernetes is a plus)
- Implement security best practices, patching, and monitoring
- Support networking infrastructure and work with vendors when needed
- Keep documentation, runbooks, and processes clean and current
Must‑Haves:
- 5+ years of systems administration experience
- Strong Windows Server & Active Directory skills
- VMware ESXi experience
- Solid security fundamentals
- Comfortable working independently and on‑site
Nice‑to‑Haves:
- CMMC compliance familiarity
- Power Shell and/or Bash scripting
- Kubernetes or CI/CD exposure
- SMB IT experience
- Guaranteed part‑time hours (15–20 per week)
- Real ownership of systems—not just ticket work
- Hands‑on technical work with modern infrastructure
- Clear expectations and priorities
- A role that values experience, independence, and good judgment
