Data Solutions Engineer

Location: On-site in Ogden, UT or Sandy, UT

We are seeking a skilled Data Solutions Engineer to enhance our operational capabilities by leveraging internal and external data assets. This role is crucial in driving business insights, understanding member needs, and optimizing both tactical and strategic decision-making.

• Serve as the go-to expert for data pipelines supporting the operational deployment of Data Science and analytical models.
• Design and implement serverless solutions whenever possible, ensuring optimized performance and scalability.
• Develop and execute analytics solution engineering strategies
  , refining processes as needed.
• Oversee Dev Ops and orchestration for data marts and analytical workflows.
• Monitor, secure, and track data usage while ensuring the effectiveness of analytical products.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver reliable, accessible, and accurate API services
  .
• Ensure compliance with security, documentation, governance, and regulatory standards
  .
• Manage a small reporting layer on top of analytical models to provide insights into model performance and impact.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities by analyzing trends and projections.

Education:

• Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  OR
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 3+ years of equivalent experience
  .

Experience &

Skills:

• 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing Data Science solutions
  .
• Proven experience in developing business analytical solutions for mid-to-large-sized organizations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and quickly respond to challenges.
• Strong communication skills with a positive, collaborative attitude that aligns with our company culture.
• Experience in financial services (preferred).
• Familiarity with dashboard design and visualization tools (preferred).
• Ability to translate complex concepts into practical, data-driven solutions
  .

Technical Expertise:

• Development experience with various data management technologies
  , including:

    SQL & relational databases
  • Message brokers (e.g., Rabbit
    
    MQ)
  • Multi-dimensional database design
• Strong understanding of data collection, streaming, preparation, analysis, modeling, and algorithm integration
  .
• Advanced SQL skills (experience with Oracle and Microsoft preferred).
• Proficient in Python for data processing, analysis, and automation.
• Experience with Big Data technologies including pyspark
  .
• Experience with Airflow to build data pipelines
  .
• Experience working in a Linux environment
  .
• Familiarity with kubernetes
• Exposure to tools like Anaconda, Jupyter Notebook, and Tableau (preferred).
• Kafka and streaming experience is a bonus.
