Associate Director, Clinical Science – Bio Space

Bio Space (Recursion) invites candidates for the Associate Director, Clinical Science role. The position is intended for a director‑level Clinical Scientist who will oversee all clinical aspects of one or more clinical trials.

Recursion is at the forefront of reimagining drug discovery through the integration of automated cell biology, high‑dimensional data sets, and sophisticated analytics. This role will plan and author clinical deliverables such as protocols, amendments, medical monitoring plans, annual reports, study‑specific updates, and CSRs. It also involves routine medical monitoring, site interaction, correspondence concerning patient eligibility and treatment inquiries, and presentations both internally and externally.

• Create – Serve as the authoring lead on multiple clinical documents and site/agency interactions.
• Collaborate – Work with dynamic teams, leading and owning decisions or timelines, or contributing key expertise.
• Drive & Deliver – Ensure study data quality by reviewing medical monitoring, issuing and closing queries, reviewing TLFs, summarizing data, and presenting data to management.
• Prioritize – Support multiple early phase (1‑2) studies simultaneously, applying strong time‑management and organizational skills.

Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical Science, you will join the Clinical Science Team within Clinical Development. The team shepherds experimental drugs from IND through Dose‑Finding, Proof of Concept, and possibly Registration studies.

• 5+ years as a Clinical Scientist in a pharmaceutical or biotech company.
• Prior experience in early phase 1‑2 oncology studies is required.
• Experience with hematologic malignancies is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Strong relationship‑building skills for cross‑disciplinary collaboration.
• Proven ability to manage multiple, complex, competing priorities.
• Strategic and tactical operational skills.
• Problem‑solving and issue‑management skills that are solution‑focused.

This is an office‑based, hybrid role in our Salt Lake City/New York City office. Employees are expected to work in the office at least 50% of the time.
