Sign Language Interpreter Flex

Under the supervision of the Communication Center Manager, the Interpreter will provide high-quality professional American Sign Language interpreting through video in a call center. Interpreters must possess fluent American Sign Language and spoken English skills, accurate interpreting abilities, and thorough knowledge of and adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.

ZP Flex Interpreters (working 15 hours over a 6-week schedule) are eligible for:

Job Requirements

• Work 15 hours every 6 weeks
• Pass the company's interpreting skills assessment
• Complete a 40-hour New Hire Training

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide effective video relay and remote interpreting services
• Support the company's mission and values
• Provide excellent customer service with professionalism and respect
• Maintain punctuality, preparedness, and accurate record-keeping
• Follow all policies, procedures, and FCC regulations
• Adapt quickly to new technologies
• Multitask effectively during interpreting and video use
• Participate in professional development training
• Meet performance expectations with minimal supervision
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Exhibit strong interpersonal skills
• Onsite interpreting may be required based on business needs; driving access, valid license, and insurance are necessary for onsite work.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

• Fluent ASL and spoken English
• Accurate interpretation skills
• Understanding of Deaf culture
• Knowledge of NAD-RID Code of Conduct
• 3-5 years interpreting experience (preferred)
• State licensure or credentials as required
• Must be 18 or older
