Position OverviewThe successful candidate shall have experience managing a $30M +/- revenue construction area. The candidate shall be responsible for the full financial life cycle of projects within the construction area, including recruiting, dispatching, and managing all craft employees in industrial construction. Directs and assists Project Managers, Superintendents and General Foreman as needed to ensure profitable, safe, timely and quality project execution.
Assists Regional Manager and Industrial Construction Management team in coordinating daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
- Help establish the area’s goals for profitability and growth.
- Assist in the development of aggressive marketing/business development and expansion plans.
- Manage all salary and craft employees within the area.
- Oversee project budgets, including cost control and forecasting.
- Develop organizational plans for area-wide operations and associated functions.
- Proven record in bringing jobs to completion, on-time and within budget.
- Communicate effectively with field teams to ensure projects are accurate and within budget.
- Prepare and manage budgets and resources to achieve financial targets.
- Conduct effective contractual meetings (pre-bid, negotiations, kickoff, post-project).
- Develop and implement operational strategies to meet business goals and objectives.
- Lead and supervise cross-functional teams to drive collaboration and professional conduct.
- Manage initiation, planning and execution of projects of varying scale.
- Support estimating through bid reviews and constructability reviews, including activity productions, crew makeup, equipment selection and cost analysis.
- Ensure all safety and environmental requirements are met.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, and subcontractor resources with Project Manager and other Loenbro entities for timely, cost-effective completion.
- Ensure team members follow safety and work rules and policies.
- Provide necessary training for operating equipment or installation within scope.
- Plan on-the-job training to ensure safety and quality; conduct timely safety and quality reviews of job sites.
- Collaborate with all operations areas to create new opportunities for Loenbro.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in industrial construction, including at least 5 years as a foreman and 5 years as a superintendent.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive construction management experience in operations and contract administration.
- Experience managing projects with multiple crews and at least 250 craft employees.
- Completion of OSHA or equivalent safety training.
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Job or similar job costing program.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Must be 21 years of age to operate a company vehicle; driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Outside most of the time; exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
- Manufacturing and refining environment; confined spaces and limited working surfaces.
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and strong odors; areas with limited visibility.
- Climbing stairs and ladders, including working in trenches and elevated platforms; lifting equipment and materials (1-50 pounds, 50% of the time).
- Driving may be required; valid driver’s license and DMV background check may apply.
- Walking on uneven terrain (approximately two miles per day); standing, sitting, stooping, crawling, kneeling.
- Use of respirator if required by position.
- Driving if travel is required.
