Job Summary
Within their location, supports the development and maintenance of a Performance Excellence culture particularly in the areas of continuous improvement and organizational and personal learning. Leads and supports manufacturing initiatives that improve organizational performance and effectiveness. Demonstrates an understanding of the Performance Excellence business model and how it is applied in their location. Leads learning and development initiatives and supports plant leadership in implementing company and manufacturing training procedures and practices.
Serves as the liaison between Corporate Performance Excellence and Learning and Development resources and the plant. Performs all general training duties, coordinates the plant certification and training programs, ensuring all training is documented and tracked. Provides reports to plant and corporate leadership as required. Collaborates with Performance Excellence/L&D resources across the organization to promote the transfer of knowledge; identify share and embed best practices;
and help each other solve problems.
- Leadership – Serves as a member of the local Leadership Team and facilitates meetings. Champions the Performance Excellence business model, collaborates with cross‑functional contacts, assists Plant Leader with goal deployment, and provides administrative support for goal deployment tools.
- Teams – Supports team discipline, mentors project team leadership, coaches team disciplines, and embeds performance excellence concepts in production teams.
- Process Improvement – Oversees the process improvement program, coaches involvement, and implements improvement ideas.
- Local Communication – Establishes and implements effective communication tools, ensures bulletin boards are current, and monitors focus meeting attendance.
- Certification Program Coordination – Ensures all local certification materials are current, identifies barriers, collaborates with subject matter experts, and maintains recertification compliance.
- General Training – Conducts orientation training, oversees performance excellence and leadership training, documents training requirements, arranges Train‑The‑Trainer courses, coordinates training activities, maintains training hours, and manages skill matrices.
- Compliance Training Program – Manages the annual compliance training program to ensure 100% employee completion by the deadline.
- Training Documentation and Tracking – Ensures training documentation is developed, maintains required certification documentation, supports learning records, produces reports, and conducts audits to meet company requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree or attending college (Preferred)
- Demonstrable knowledge of MS Office software required.
- Above average to very good oral and written communication and presentation skills required.
- Examiner experience or other quality management systems and principles preferred.
- Understanding of Goal Deployment Process or other strategic planning and deployment methodologies preferred.
- Train the Trainer training preferred.
- Ability to understand business strategies and translate them into actionable talent development initiatives and training preferred.
- Experience training adult learners in job skill or soft skill areas preferred.
- Experience with various LMS in order to maintain employee development and learning records preferred.
Proven communication skills both orally and in writing. Proven interpersonal skills including the ability to influence others and successfully influence those over whom you have no authority. Proven success in maintaining good relationships with internal and/or external customers. Proven track record in meeting customer expectations. Proven ability to actively listen to others and follow up on action items.
Decision MakingMember of Local Leadership Team. Determines and recommends implementation approaches in area of responsibility. Recommends improvements to Performance Excellence and Learning and Development approaches/deployment practices.
