SummaryThe Group Director of Sales provides leadership and sales management for new business development and account management activities within an identified sales territory. The incumbent is accountable for developing, managing, and executing a multi‑level sales plan designed to attain revenue growth and business retention goals.
Essential Functions- Direct, manage, and develop a team of multi‑level sales professionals to grow and retain business, achieving stated sales and retention goals.
- Plan, organize, and provide leadership to achieve short‑ and long‑term business growth and retention objectives.
- Ensure development and implementation of strategic and tactical marketing initiatives for the assigned territory.
- Develop and lead the execution of processes and sales activities designed to retain and grow current customers.
- Interface with Ryder’s customers and prospects to maximize opportunities associated with Ryder’s full breadth of products and services.
- Maintain knowledge of competitor strengths and weaknesses and manage execution of competitive strategy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Advanced knowledge of financial elements such as balance sheets, cost of capital, depreciation, and tax reporting (preferred).
- Expert knowledge of transportation and warehousing, including general principles and logistics of freight movement (preferred).
- In-depth understanding of Ryder’s sales process, products, and services.
- Competencies:
Motivating/Directing Others, Drive for Results, Customer Focus, Business Acumen, Managing Vision and Purpose (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Marketing, Transportation, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Seven (7) years or more of successful sales management experience, including competitive analysis, strategizing, execution, and negotiation tools.
The compensation offered may vary based on experience, education, work location, market data, and internal equity. Eligible for an annual bonus, commission, and/or long‑term incentive plan.

Salaried
Minimum Pay Range: 190000
Maximum Pay Range: 210000
