Associate Production Supervisor – Salt Lake City, UT

As an Associate Production Supervisor you will report to the manager and will be in charge of directing manufacturing operations on a shift or group of production lines, ensuring volume, quality, and cost goals are met.
Responsibilities- Lead the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment and be responsible for the line’s success.
- Evaluate daily operating performance and advise on changes in operating conditions to improve efficiencies and quality.
- Lead a team of individual professionals (e.g., engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness requirements.
- Troubleshoot and analyze operational problems, guiding regular discussions with operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding.
- Solicit and evaluate ideas for plant improvements and collaborate with qualified engineers to develop project proposals.
- Provide technical and operational advice to project teams.
- Act as principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.
- Engage in training and coaching of junior operators.
- Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and material supply to meet customer requirements.
- Initiate and participate in process development and cost improvement projects.
- Assist in department budget planning and manage department expenses.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing individuals on the use of all control points and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with at least 1 year of operations experience.
- Demonstrated operations and technical skills, understanding of Flex functional standards, and a general knowledge of functional concepts.
- Proficiency in office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages, and database systems).
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures; write reports and business correspondence.
- Strong communication skills, able to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
- Mathematical proficiency with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions for practical applications.
- Problem‑solving skills, able to define and solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Ability to collect data, establish facts, interpret instructions, and draw valid conclusions.
Impacts the immediate operational success of the function; executes and may provide input to functional processes or technologies; assists in achieving section/sub‑function objectives for a functional area.
Decision Making / DiscretionFacilitates team decision making; approves and/or makes decisions for sections/sub‑functions; decisions may affect sections/sub‑functions.
Supervision / LeadershipClosely supervised; receives detailed instructions on all work; identifies own development needs and works toward them; supports Flex values.
Work EnvironmentEmployee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, repetitive motion, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Noise level is usually moderate.
Physical DemandsRegularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to stand and walk; occasionally required to sit, handle small components, and reach with hands and arms. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
