As a PLC Technician, you will help transform our Bakery, one of the fastest growing and most loved brands in our category. The transformation is enabled through significant investments in our existing “classic” production lines, as well as recently installed state‑of‑the‑art production and packaging equipment.
Responsibilities- Provides input to managing the controls and automation systems testing, quality control, data retrieval and training for packaging and processing equipment.
- Assists in managing the controls and automation interface, testing, quality control, data retrieval, and training for all packaging and processing equipment.
- Assists with the development and modification of PLC & HMI programs.
- Provides project engineering support to process areas.
- Provides controls support for the manufacturing facility and assist plant mechanics in troubleshooting.
- Ensures documentation for control/electrical system and document change control procedures.
- Assists with the development and management of controls related capital projects.
- Contributes to determination and maintainability of new process control systems and manage process controls change control procedures for existing equipment.
- You’ll work around moving machines – mixers, conveyor belts, and forklifts.
All candidates, however, should have understanding in automated industrial machinery, which includes motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, etc. and hydraulic and pneumatic systems; packaging, conveyance, liquid and powder manufacturing equipment and processes; PLC trouble shooting; electrical and mechanical drawings; installation and troubleshoot basic three phase motor control circuits; and breakdown analysis as well as the following:
- Ability and skills to troubleshoot and maintain Allen‑Bradley Micro Logix and Control Logix hardware
- Perform Allen‑Bradley PLC programming implementing RSLogix5, RSLogix
500 and RSLogix
5000 software or equivalent. - Implement and troubleshoot industrial communication networks including Ethernet, Allen‑Bradley Remote I/O and Device Net communication networks
- Read electrical schematics, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&’s) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s)
- Perform PID Loop tuning and implement instrument calibration procedures.
- Knowledge of programming languages relevant to PLCs.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical control systems, including PLC controls, networking, and HMI systems.
- Initiate and develop control system modifications and new projects to improve plant performance and reliability.
- General knowledge of the National Electrical Code
- Knowledge of Wiring, Hydraulic Systems, and Pneumatic Systems.
- Reading blueprints and schematics.

- Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, lifting up to 40 lbs, walking around, or climbing stairs.
