Support the facility through the creation, delivery, and upkeep of supply plans, purchase orders, inventory levels, reorder points, and other types of systems and documentation associated with the flow of materials. Create and maintain VMI, Kanban, and other types of stocking systems for key materials and suppliers. Improve the business by implementing ideas to enhance the worksite and the planning/purchasing process.
Create a positive culture of continuous improvement through learning and applying lean principles, exhibiting honesty at all times, and showing respect toward others.
- Initiate and process purchase orders to completion in a timely manner
- Continuously track and follow up on expected delivery dates of materials
- Communicate to planning and production about any potential disruptions to the flow of materials
- Audit inventory levels and accuracy under the direction of the supply chain manager
- Ensure that materials are being purchased in a cost‑effective manner
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers under the direction of the supply chain manager
- Search and recommend new suppliers as needed
- Conduct supplier audits as necessary for inventory levels, quality, etc.
- Respond to and resolve any supplier quality issues in a timely manner
- Assist in the creation of work orders and production packets when needed
- Maintain a presence and a strong relationship with production floor personnel and leadership
- Highlight and lead efforts to respond to any material‑related issues
- Audit and maintain proper inventory levels of a Kanban system for materials and supplies not managed through the MRP
- Assist with incoming inspection
- Upkeep supplier scorecards
- Assist in responding to the requests of internal customers regarding the status of WIP
- Follow all standards and best practices
- Maintain focus to complete assignments
- Understand and promote WSP mission and values at all times and adhere to all safety policies
- Effectively use metrics and visual management systems to define, measure, and improve delivery to both internal and external customers and ensure customer satisfaction
- Lead or participate in improvement events
- Be available to work flexible hours as necessary
- Create results by working effectively with other team members

Education:
4‑year degree or equivalent experience
- Computer
- Copy machine/printer/scanner
- ERP
- Various hand measuring tools to audit vendor quality

- Exposure to production shop conditions: moving mechanical equipment, various fumes, heat, cold, and irritants
- Noise level can be high due to operation of production equipment
- Proper clothing attire must be worn. No torn clothes/excessively dirty clothes, or dangerous loose clothing (including clothes with rips or holes), shall be worn during working hours.
- Long hair must be pulled back during work hours.
- No loose‑fitting jewelry can be worn for safety purposes of the operator.
