What You’ll DoYou’ll own the sanitation program in practice
, not by delegation. This role is responsible for executing, maintaining, and verifying sanitation systems across our facilities to meet cGMP, FSMA, and FDA food safety requirements—daily, visibly, and credibly.
This is a hands‑on, single‑contributor role with enterprise‑level accountability. While there are no direct reports today, the scope carries regulatory weight and requires judgment, discipline, and personal execution.
Responsibilities- Execute and verify sanitation activities across production areas, storage spaces, common areas, and sanitation‑adjacent transportation interfaces.
- Maintain sanitation SOPs, chemical controls, waste handling procedures, and verification logs to prevent contamination, cross‑contact, or adulteration.
- Serve as (or rapidly become) a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) supporting preventive controls and food safety programs.
- Conduct routine sanitation audits with Quality and Maintenance, identifying risks and driving corrective actions.
- Ensure sanitation records, inspection logs, and corrective actions are complete, accurate, and audit‑ready.
- Train and guide sanitation‑adjacent personnel on proper hygienic and sanitation practices, without formal people‑management authority.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Logistics to align sanitation work with operational schedules.
- Personally perform sanitation tasks when required—including routine, unglamorous work—because food safety does not wait for org charts.
- Have deep sanitation experience in a cGMP‑regulated environment and understand how standards are enforced in reality.
- Are comfortable being the accountable owner without relying on headcount.
- Take pride in execution and evidence, not titles.
- Understand that sanitation credibility is earned through consistency and presence.
- Are willing to do the work you design.
- Expect supervisory authority as validation of seniority.
- Prefer directing work rather than performing it.
- Avoid hands‑on tasks once responsibility increases.
- Require formal power to influence outcomes.
- Are uncomfortable being measured by audit readiness and observable standards.
- 4–5 years of sanitation experience in regulated manufacturing environments.
- Direct experience with cGMP, FSMA and food safety sanitation requirements.
- Strong command of sanitation SOPs, chemical handling, documentation and verification practices.
- The judgment to operate independently while coordinating across functions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven sanitation experience in a cGMP‑regulated manufacturing setting.
- Ability to work on‑site and perform physical sanitation‑related tasks as required.
- Experience in dietary supplement, food or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- PCQI certification or the demonstrated ability to obtain PCQI certification with minimal ramp time.
- Familiarity with digital or AI‑enabled tools for sanitation tracking or documentation.
- Trust paired with accountability.
- A role that directly protects product integrity and public health.
- An environment that values competence over ceremony.
Compensation is aligned to scope, accountability and demonstrated capability within our internal framework.
