The Resource Nurse supports high quality, patient‑centered care by offering feedback, guidance, and mentoring to new graduate nurses and nurses transitioning to a new specialty. The Resource Nurse supports multiple units and provides guidance and education on the hospital’s standard of nursing practice, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements.
What You Will Do- Perform rounds on each nursing unit.
- Observe and assess the quality of patient care being delivered.
- Identify nursing educational needs.
- Escalate concerns about nursing skills, patient care, policies, processes and equipment as appropriate.
- Ensure that nurses within scope of support have a clear understanding of how to integrate patient experience into nursing practice.
- Round with new graduate and new‑to‑service nurses assisting them with educational needs.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse.
- Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree.
- Previous educational or training experience strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of nursing experience with some experience in critical areas (ICU, PCU, ER) required.
