As a highly‑skilled, compassionate NICU nurse you will deliver exceptional patient care to our most vulnerable patients—premature and sick newborns. In addition to providing around‑the‑clock care, NICU RNs offer support to parents, focusing on emotional encouragement and education. The team works collaboratively, supporting each other like family while providing meaningful care.
Responsibilities- Provide life‑sustaining care for newborns in need and assess neonates at delivery, performing neonatal resuscitation when necessary.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and deliver essential nutrients to newborns.
- Maintain, update, and document patient records to ensure infants are breathing and maturing properly.
- Collaborate closely with department leadership and physicians to coordinate treatment plans and examinations.
- Educate parents on day‑to‑day operations, goals, treatment plans, and home care procedures.
- Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
- Current State of Utah or Compact Registered Nurse License.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) and certification (available after hire).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and certification (available after hire).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and certification (available after hire).
- S.T.A.B.L.E. certification—must obtain within 90 days from hire and maintain thereafter.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred; must obtain within 6 months from hire and maintain thereafter.
- One or more years of recent NICU RN experience required.
