Under the direction of the Director of Trauma, Research and Stroke, the Neuro Spine Navigator works in collaboration with the department Director to focus on both spine and joint replacement cases, emphasizing patient experience. She/he in collaboration with the key department Mangers and Educators to assess, pan, implement and evaluate educational programs, in-services, new hire orientations and staff development for the assigned patient population, as appropriate.
In this role:
- You will be responsible for daily patient rounding to assess, implement and improve service standards
- You will work to improve patient care in accordance with standards of nursing and practice as defined by Saint Marks and the Utah Nurse Practice Act
- You will demonstrate effective communication skills; both oral and written
- You will be self-directed with ability to work both independently and collaboratively with hospital community
- You will use MS Office Suite, internet and associated computer skills (intermediate skill level required)
- You will demonstrate strong problem solving skills
- You will assess learning needs of staff and systematically plan learning activities based on identified needs
- You will demonstrate ability in consultant role by assisting with the integration of new learning into practice and serve as resource for professional growth and development
- You will demonstrate ability in leadership role providing structure and support to achieve department and organizational goals
- You will communicate effectively with physicians, staff and patients and their families to facilitate their needs
- You will plan, conduct and assess programs within specified time frames to ensure goal achievement
- You will design and implement educational offerings, incorporating adult educational learning principles
- (RN) Registered Nurse
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Bachelor of Science required;
Masters degree in related field preferred - Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience related to Ortho/Neuro required
