FAR Inspections is hiring a Mortgage Field Services Inspector to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.

Independent contractors earn predictable, full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to effectively manage time andMeet deadlines is crucial. The role is based in Reno, NV.

An occupancy verification is a periodic assessment of a property’s occupancy status, required by lenders to maintain loan compliance.

• Verify property occupancy.
• Report general condition of the property using a mobile application.

• Complete the inspection within 4 days of assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in an app.
• Spend extended periods of time driving within the assigned territory.

• Computer with Internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour.

Depending on county type (urban or rural) you may perform anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. No set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month.

Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect or are willing to cover a larger territory.

No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
