Overview
Research Development Associate role at University of Utah Health Research. Implement strategic activities to advance research initiatives, coordinate capacity‑building programs, and support strategic research advancement.
Responsibilities- Support research development programs within DFPM, including mentorship and writing groups.
- Initiate data gathering and provide basic data translation for pilot research and scholarship data.
- Support the Utah Health Research Network (UHRN) by managing meetings, developing SOPs, guiding, maintaining, and tracking projects, agenda items, and processes.
- Understand University research services, groups, and systems, and build relationships with other University divisions to support UHRN growth and research collaboration efforts.
- Provide administrative research services: IRB assistance, survey creation, study protocol development, literature assistance, manuscript editing/formatting, and poster creation.
- Onboard, supervise, mentor, and train new or junior research staff and students.
- Entry Level (I):
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalency) with up to 2 years of directly related work experience or master’s degree (or equivalency). - Developing Level (II):
Bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience. - Career Level (III):
Bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
Equivalent experience substitution: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience.
Preferences- Broad grasp of modern science techniques and approaches; strong understanding of SQL; light understanding of R or Python helpful.

$50,000 – $77,167 per year.
