Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in chemical biology or related scientific discipline plus three years of experience (one year of education can substitute for two years of related work). Equivalent experience may be accepted.
- Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
- Valid Utah Driver’s License may be required in certain departments.
- Develop scientific research projects and serve as co‑principal investigator or key personnel.
- Research and stay current with project‑related scientific literature.
- Set up new methods or assays to accomplish scientific objectives.
- Identify and implement creative solutions to overcome problems.
- Organize, interpret data and derive study conclusions.
- Manage and train research staff to achieve research goals.
- Collaborate with internal and external investigators on multiple research projects ensuring scientific significance and feasibility.
- Summarize results of lab studies in the form of scientific abstracts and manuscripts.
- Serve as a resource to provide scientific information needed for various initiatives aimed at understanding human health and diseases.
- Contribute to teaching activities by preparing and presenting educational seminars.
- Assist with grant preparation by researching background, significance and planning statistics.
- Attend national conferences and present results of scientific studies.
