Server – American Cruise Lines

Base pay range

American Cruise Lines, the largest U.S. cruise company, offers unique experiences exploring America’s rivers and coasts. This temporary position is open for the 2026 cruising season, lasting 28 weeks aboard our shipboard hotel and restaurant. Pay ranges from $1,000 to $1,400 per week with additional bonuses. All major living expenses are covered aboard.

Responsibilities
  • Provide guests with an elegant and memorable dining experience.
  • Efficiently set‑up and break‑down breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail hour including setting tables, arranging linen, silverware, china and glassware.
  • Cater to all culinary requests in an efficient manner.
  • Acknowledge guests by name, escort them to their tables, present food and beverage menus, suggest particular courses and wines, and answer questions about menu items.
  • Efficiently relay orders to the galley, serve courses and beverages with care, and ensure all items are presented properly.
  • Perform additional duties such as greeting guests upon embarkation, serving afternoon teas and snacks, and catering evening entertainment as required.

Qualifications
  • Minimum age 18 and must be an American citizen or Green Card holder.
  • Must be willing and able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day, 7 days a week, up to 28 weeks.
  • Capable of lifting, bending, climbing, and standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Must pass a pre‑employment drug test (includes marijuana and other controlled substances).
  • Under strict alcohol prohibition aboard.
  • Must meet grooming standards, including limits on visible tattoos and piercings.
  • Temporary employment not to extend beyond 28 weeks of shipboard work.
  • Eligible to apply for future management positions, but those positions are not guaranteed.
