Job Summary

We are seeking dynamic, customer-focused individuals to join our team as part-time Starbucks Baristas at the University of Utah Campus Store. In this position, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff. As a Barista, you will prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, assist with food preparation, and provide exceptional customer service.

This position is part-time and ideal for individuals seeking set working hours.

• Greet and connect with customers, providing a friendly and efficient experience.
• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages to Starbucks standards.
• Assist in food preparation, including sandwiches, pastries, and other snacks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the café area and equipment.
• Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for food handling and preparation.
• Stay informed about Starbucks products and promotions to assist customers effectively.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Current Food Handler’s Permit within one month of employment; must be able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in English; and a commitment to providing excellence in service required. Six months food handlers’ experience is preferred.

• Previous experience in a café or customer service environment is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to Starbucks procedures and standards.
