We are the operator and maintenance contractor for OHSU and City of Portland Aerial Tram and are now hiring Full-time & Part-Time Cabin Attendants. Work shifts will vary and may include weekends.
The ideal candidate will excel while working in a unique outdoor environment that includes: all aspects of Tram cabin operations, proactive guest interactions, passenger access and procedural compliance. As well as maintaining a high standard of customer service and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
The Tramway Cabin Attendant is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration, high, precarious places, enclosed spaces, and outside weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, extreme heat, and extreme cold.
Your tasks- Operating the tramway from within the cabin
- Perform required preoperational checks of tramway controls
- Facilitate the passenger boarding process, help passengers that need assistance, and check for valid tickets/passes
- Light maintenance and cleaning cabins and stations
- Perform safety and evacuation procedures
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear
- Log trip data such as departure time and passenger count, etc.
- Greet passengers, make announcements, answer questions about the tramway and OHSU facilities, and provide directions
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
- Assist in CPR/First Aid procedures when necessary
- Train, mentor, coach and/or assist new employees in related job functions
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to identify unsafe operational conditions such as weather or mechanical/electrical malfunction and follow established protocols including evacuation procedures.
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Must be willing to work at heights
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be willing and able to follow safety protocols
- Good vision that includes close, distant, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Motivated and teachable
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
The pay starts at $18.50 per hour. Following the successful completion of a 90-day probationary period, employees may be eligible for an increase to $19.50 per hour for part-time positions or $20.00 per hour for full-time positions, based on performance and business needs.
