Recursion’s Returnship ProgramThis sixteen‑week program is sponsored by the Women at Recursion Employee Resource Group. It supports individuals who have taken a hiatus of 2+ years from the STEM industry, giving them the opportunity to return to the workforce in a learning environment with mentorship and support from teams. The program lasts four months, running from February 2026 through the end of May 2026, and offers potential transition into full‑time employment based on performance.
TissueCulture Core Returnship
As a key member of the Tissue Culture Core, you will maintain the high‑quality cellular models that power our platform. The core combines deep scientific expertise with industrial automation and cutting‑edge technology to manage the complete cell‑culture lifecycle—from sourcing and expansion to rigorous quality control.
Responsibilities- Drive large‑scale cell production: manage the end‑to‑end lifecycle of diverse cellular models, from thaw to cryopreservation, using bioreactors and multi‑layer vessels to ensure a consistent, high‑quality supply.
- Uphold quality and process excellence: characterize models, optimize culture protocols, and meticulously document process data to track key metrics and drive continuous improvement.
- Enable a data‑driven platform: deliver high‑quality cellular materials and well‑documented data that fuel our high‑throughput operations and support the Recursion OS.
- At least 3 years of experience in a research laboratory, preferably with mammalian cell culture.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related major.
- Demonstrated experience after a 2+ year break from employment.
- Curiosity, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a meticulous approach to recording experimental details.
- Collaborative mindset, ability to work independently, and ability to thrive in fast‑paced, creative environments.
