Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems in the warehouse or production areas. Test existing equipment and determine if components need to be upgraded or replaced. Check switches, motors, regulators, and other parts of an industrial electrical system. Work on hydraulic, pneumatic, and other types of systems. Perform advanced troubleshooting, work with general supervision, and may provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff.

• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.
• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
• Detects malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
• Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction.
• Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools.
• Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards, using electronic test equipment and hand tools.
• Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
• Follows electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
• May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Possesses all basic and some advanced skills and knowledge.
• Has a thorough understanding of the total process flow.

• Must have basic knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Requires state Electrician license.

Associate degree in electrical or mechanical technology and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience as an electrician.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently stand, walk, bend, twist, reach with hands and arms, climb, stoop, kneel. Regular fingering, grasping, and feeling requires repetitive movement with frequent use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls and hand‑eye coordination.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus regularly.
