Field Crane Technician

Overview

MGX Field Crane Technicians are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks. This position will be located at the Salt Lake City, Utah branch for MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Service Manager.

Base pay range: $25.00/hr - $45.00/hr pay is provided on a bi-weekly basis with a 14-day pay period.

• Candidates hired for this role will receive a $4,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days of continuous service.

• Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot various mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes.
• Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision.
• Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
• Properly fill out working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews and expense reports.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician.
• Experience with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT & TMS Cranes;
  Grove GMK European Cranes;
  Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes;
  National Boom Trucks preferred.
• Must be able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Must be able to travel 50% of the time to job sites and for training as required.
• Must have excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

• Know and follow established job specific and facility wide safety and health procedures and rules.

This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions. The position may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
