Wheeler Machinery in Salt Lake City is seeking to hire a full-time Power Systems Field Maintenance Technician. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance on generators and industrial power equipment, including load bank testing and minor repairs.

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services on Caterpillar and non-Cat generators

• Perform PM Services on diesel and natural gas engines of all makes and models.

• Operate and maintain a commercial vehicle in accordance with company policies and DOT guidelines.

• Perform electrical 120V to 480V load bank testing

• Willing to complete all job tasks assigned by supervisor, and management

• Perform minor troubleshooting and repair of engines and generators

• Will perform minor AC electrical repairs

• Must be able to work within given flat rate times

• Safety First, must have a good safety record. “Safety” will be this role’s top priority.

• Must have an excellent driving record and have or be able to acquire a CDL

• Be self-motivated, have good organizational skills, and exceptional work ethic

• Must be very personable and have excellent customer service skills

• Professional attitude and appearance

• Diesel and gas engine experience

• Follows detailed instructions and accomplish work with minimum supervision

• Must complete paperwork in a timely manner, and have good computer skills

• Coordinate parts orders, warranty information, service reports, and documentation required to complete repair

• Must have a teamwork attitude working closely with all departments and supervisors

• Works in high pressure situations while maintaining a professional attitude

• Must be punctual and willing to work long hours, including weekends and nights as needed

• Willing to attend various training classes to expand knowledge

• Must be able to work overtime as required.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
