Join Master Control’s Context Engineering team and build real product features using AI development tools (Claude Code, Codex, Open Code) from day one.
The unique opportunity:
Most internships have you working in isolation. Here, what you learn directly translates into improving the developer experience across the organization. You’ll use GenAI tools to build features faster, then help optimize those same tools and practices for 150+ engineers. Your insights as an new user of these tools will be invaluable in refining how we work.
You’ll contribute to two main projects:
Primary:Mission Control
— our open-source agent work-management and monitoring desktop app. Mission Control gives teams visibility into and control over their AI agent work: work items, agents, sessions, and git work trees, with review gates and observability built in.
You’ll work across the whole product:
- Core app:
React/Type Script web UI and server — work item management, agent session observability, work tree workflows, and review gates - MCP server and tooling: the Model Context Protocol surface used to drive and observe agent work
- Rust launcher: self-upgrading per-platform launcher with supply-chain hardening and mandatory checksum verification
- Website: the Astro marketing site
— build systems to track and improve how engineers use AI tools across the company, including data collection servers, analytics dashboards, and cloud infrastructure on Kubernetes.
Key Responsibilities- Build full-stack features for Mission Control:
React/Type Script web UI, server, and MCP tools - Contribute to the Rust self-upgrading launcher and its supply-chain hardening
- Write comprehensive tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) using Vi test and Playwright
- Create data pipelines and work with PostgreSQL databases handling millions of records
- Deploy services to Kubernetes and set up CI/CD pipelines with Git Hub Actions
- Use AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Codex, Open Code) for rapid development, test generation, and code reviews
Languages:
Type Script/JavaScript, Rust, and whatever languages are best suited to the product outcomes we need
Frontend:
React, Material-UI, Astro (website), Vi test (testing), Playwright (end-to-end testing)
Backend & tooling:
Node.js, MCP (Model Context Protocol), Jira/Atlassian…
