Transportation Supervisor – Salt Lake City Distribution Center

Join Albertsons Companies as a Transportation Supervisor and lead the transportation operations at our Salt Lake City Distribution Center. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant movement of goods in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commit to providing a safe work environment and enforce DOT compliance.
  • Keep abreast of Federal, State, and Municipal laws, collective bargaining agreements, and company work rules related to trucking operations.
  • Implement cost‑saving measures through collaboration with drivers, dispatchers, and software.
  • Teach and train drivers on new systems as necessary.
  • Determine equipment and manpower requirements for daily operational needs.
  • Manage and control daily workload through effective dispatch procedures.
  • Work with drivers to improve driving skills.
Qualifications
  • 2‑year college degree or 5 years progressive trucking experience.
  • Commercial driver’s license, Class A preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and HEALTH DEPT. laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of safely operating a Class 8 tractor and trailer a plus.
  • Experience with transportation related software (Manugistics JDA, XATA, CAMS).
  • Knowledge of in‑haul/back‑haul procedures.
  • Familiarity with union work environment and time‑and‑attendance procedures.
  • High degree of initiative and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
