Overview

Core-Mark Truck Drivers in Salt Lake City will be part of a team delivering food and food-related products to customers, supporting America’s food distribution system.

  • Pay $30.50 per hour
  • Truck drivers can earn a $10,000 Hire Bonus
  • Drivers will get every 8th week for rest, totaling 7 weeks off per year
  • Get paid for miles, stops and unloading
  • Day routes dispatch from 1:00 AM – 6:00 AM (out 1–2 nights a week)
  • Average Core-Mark drivers earn $80,000; top drivers earn $100,000

Responsibilities

Position

Purpose:

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. They ensure customers’ products arrive on time and in good condition, and they are the face of the company, building lasting relationships with customers.

Primary Responsibilities: The Driver - SCM is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes for delivering and unloading food and related products to customers in a safe and timely manner and in compliance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Communicates professionally with customers, vendors and co-workers and works as a team member to best serve the company.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
  • Report safety issues and repairs; follow DOT safety guidelines and company policies
  • Report safety hazards and inspect trailers for proper loading and securing freight
  • Perform count checks and verify customer invoices for loaded goods
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and legibly
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • Deliver customer orders according to the route delivery schedule
  • Unload products, transport to designated storage areas
  • Perform damage control checks, scan items, and coordinate with supervisor as needed
  • Verify delivery with customer and obtain signatures; collect money where required
  • Ensure tractor, trailer and freight are secured
  • Unload damaged goods and returns and complete necessary paperwork
  • Complete daily hours-of-service records per Federal DOT and company requirements
  • Maintain clean tractor and dock areas; secure equipment at end of shift
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED or Equivalent
  • 6+ months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A; must be 21+ years of age
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for the past 3 years
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attains or has a valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure a new DOT Health Card
  • Ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move and stack product cases/freight (typical range 10–90 pounds)
