Inventory Specialist (Entry Level- warehouse)

Job Description- Develops and maintains good working relationships with client production management teams or client production operators.
- Reads client request/work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving or production/designated areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Performs daily product location maintenance. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, trays, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, product code, and expiration date. Ensures proper storage of products.
- Fills work orders, or requests for materials, tools, bulk downpack, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
- Assembles client orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Marks materials with identifying information.
- Opens boxes, cans, crates, and other containers.
- Inspects incoming and outgoing material for correct markings, labels and damage.
- Records amounts of materials or items received and or distributed.
- Weighs or counts items for distribution within client facility to ensure conformance to client standards.
- Performs required maintenance and processing for shelf‑life materials, including proper removal and disposal processes in alignment with client and product specifications.
- Proactively initiates and/or responds efficiently to daily internal and external client requirements; including interaction with the contract administration/client service and client production floor management to facilitate needs.
- Addresses on‑site quality assurance issues and forwards them to Program/Site Management and/or Quality Management for resolution.
- Affixes and/or inspects and verifies labels with correct lot #’s, DOM, product#, etc. Uses computer or other electronic device to enter records.
- Uses forklift, if applicable, or drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant locations or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
- Prepares parcels for mailing, shipping or delivering, if applicable.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Determines method of shipment or delivery.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers. Inserts items into containers.
- Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
- Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Inspects incoming and outgoing material for correct markings, labels and damage.
- Routes items to departments.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Drives the CSI company golf cart/truck/vehicle to deliver or pick up products to and from warehouse on site locations.
