Overview

The Cycle Counter is responsible for accurately counting inventory to ensure inventory integrity and support efficient supply chain operations. This role plays a key part in identifying discrepancies, maintaining stock accuracy, and supporting smooth warehouse or supply chain functions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties in the safest manner possible.
  • Report potential hazards and unsafe work conditions to team lead, lead hand, or manager.
  • Regular and timely attendance is a requirement for this position.
  • Perform regular cycle counts of inventory, including raw materials, finished goods, and packaging supplies.
  • Accurately record and reconcile physical counts with system data (eg, ERP or WMS).
  • Investigate and report inventory discrepancies or variances to management.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for inventory errors.
  • Help maintain inventory accuracy and minimize shrinkage or stockouts.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, production, and procurement teams to ensure smooth flow of materials.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (if certified).
  • Assist with receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping tasks as needed.
Additional Functions
  • Perform regular counts of stored materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping area, loading dock, and trash areas.
  • Complete daily quality logs (fridge and freezer times, thawing logs, etc.).
  • Complete the loss log for tracking spoiled or damaged inventory.
  • Work closely with the production department to ensure proper stock and inventory of needed materials.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and inspected according to operating procedures.
  • Adhere to shipping policies/procedures and regulatory compliance procedures.
  • At times assist and work in other areas as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Must be able to count.
  • Be able to understand documents, such as purchase orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders.
  • Must be willing to work weekends.
  • Ability to work quickly and safely
  • Ability to know how one's performance affects the areas before and after you
  • Ability to read and speak to understand instructions from supervisors and co-workers
  • 1–2 years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, or supply chain operations preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems (eg, SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or similar ERP/WMS platforms).
  • Basic math skills and ability to use handheld scanners or tablets.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
