The Cycle Counter is responsible for accurately counting inventory to ensure inventory integrity and support efficient supply chain operations. This role plays a key part in identifying discrepancies, maintaining stock accuracy, and supporting smooth warehouse or supply chain functions.
Responsibilities- Perform all duties in the safest manner possible.
- Report potential hazards and unsafe work conditions to team lead, lead hand, or manager.
- Regular and timely attendance is a requirement for this position.
- Perform regular cycle counts of inventory, including raw materials, finished goods, and packaging supplies.
- Accurately record and reconcile physical counts with system data (eg, ERP or WMS).
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies or variances to management.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for inventory errors.
- Help maintain inventory accuracy and minimize shrinkage or stockouts.
- Collaborate with warehouse, production, and procurement teams to ensure smooth flow of materials.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (if certified).
- Assist with receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping tasks as needed.
- Perform regular counts of stored materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping area, loading dock, and trash areas.
- Complete daily quality logs (fridge and freezer times, thawing logs, etc.).
- Complete the loss log for tracking spoiled or damaged inventory.
- Work closely with the production department to ensure proper stock and inventory of needed materials.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and inspected according to operating procedures.
- Adhere to shipping policies/procedures and regulatory compliance procedures.
- At times assist and work in other areas as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
- Must be able to count.
- Be able to understand documents, such as purchase orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders.
- Must be willing to work weekends.
- Ability to work quickly and safely
- Ability to know how one's performance affects the areas before and after you
- Ability to read and speak to understand instructions from supervisors and co-workers
- 1–2 years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, or supply chain operations preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with inventory systems (eg, SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or similar ERP/WMS platforms).
- Basic math skills and ability to use handheld scanners or tablets.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
