The Membership Assistant plays a key role in delivering exceptional service to members and guests, ensuring smooth membership administration and a seamless customer journey from first enquiry through to ongoing engagement. Working closely with the Membership Office Supervisor and wider team, you will support the day-to-day running of the membership function, help maintain accurate records, and contribute to the growth and retention of our valued membership base.

- Part-time role 20 to 28 hours per week, including weekends
- Provide a professional, friendly, and efficient service to all members and prospective members.
- Respond promptly to enquiries in person, by phone, and by email.
- Support the resolution of member questions, feedback, and concerns with a helpful and courteous approach.
- Contribute to creating a welcoming environment in the Club.
- Process new memberships, renewals, cancellations, and changes accurately and promptly.
- Maintain membership records and databases to the highest standards.
- Support the smooth administration of the entire customer journey — from initial enquiry and joining process through onboarding and long‑term engagement.
- Distribute Club information brochures and welcome materials.
- Assist with membership tours.
- Support marketing activities aimed at attracting new members and retaining existing ones.
- Help identify opportunities to enhance the member experience and encourage referrals.
- Work closely with the Membership Office Manager to prepare for and follow up on team meetings, ensuring agreed actions are tracked and completed.
- Assist colleagues during busy periods and collaborate across departments when needed.
- From time to time, you may be asked to support additional membership or customer service tasks in line with your role and skills — for example, helping at Club events, assisting other departments with member communications.
- Experience in a customer‑facing role, ideally in leisure, hospitality, or membership‑based organisations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organised and detail‑focused, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Confident in using Microsoft Office and membership database systems.
- Sales awareness and a positive, proactive approach to engaging with members and guests.
- Personal Attributes - A genuine passion for customer service. Professional, approachable, and reliable. Flexible and adaptable to meet business needs, including some evenings and weekends. Enthusiastic about working as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
