Preschool Educator

Overview

Joyful Discovery Preschool at Mary, Queen of Peace is seeking a highly qualified, dedicated and outgoing candidate for the position of Preschool Teacher for our Pre-Kindergarten Class for the Fall of 2025.

You will have the opportunity to make a difference in children's lives by providing them with a safe and nurturing environment that encourages their social, emotional, physical, spiritual and intellectual development. You will teach with a fun and talented team of dedicated teachers and directors, while assisting in the design and implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Applicants will have the aptitude to collaboratively maintain positive relationships with our students, parents, and coworkers.

Strong work ethic, excellent communication and classroom management skills are a must.

• This position is 18 hours per week, Monday through Thursday (9am-1:30pm) with additional planning hours to equal 2 hours per week.
• There is an 8:1 student/teacher ratio.
• This position is not benefits eligible, except for Worker’s Comp.

• Position Requirements/Preferences:
• Is faith-filled and is committed to the mission and ministry of Mary, Queen of Peace and uses the teachings of Christ in creating a supportive environment for children and families.
• Enjoys working as part of a team.
• Is organized, creative, energetic & dependable.
• Knowledge of the varied & necessary developmental stages of preschool aged children.
• Must be able to create and implement a weekly curriculum.
• Experience working with preschool aged children.
• Bachelor of Arts, preferably in Education or Early Childhood.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Lead Teacher in Pre-K, or in primary grades.
• Provide a warm nurturing environment.
• Ability to speak and write fluent English.
• Current resident of Washington State.
• Complete a successful background check through VIRTUS.
