OverviewGrade 12 Hiring Range: $21.16/hr.
- $22/hr.
Take part in a Y Before and After‑School Enrichment (BASE) program providing a safe, caring space for elementary students outside the classroom. Guide them through sports, arts, STEM and other hands‑on activities, teaching teamwork and social emotional learning while encouraging skill building, creativity, physical activity and fun.
HoursMonday – Friday, 6:45 am – start of school;
Monday – Friday, end of school – 6 pm. The Y provides full day programming on non‑school days and early release days.

MMR Vaccination Required
:
Licensed school‑age programs require Mumps, Measles and Rubella immunization per Department of Children, Youth and Family requirements.
- Implement culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities within the curriculum aligned with YMCA Youth Development goals.
- Supervise a group of children to ensure health and safety and a positive experience.
- Provide guidance to staff or volunteers overseeing activities.
- Communicate daily, confidential and evaluative information with parents or guardians.
- Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including medical and disciplinary, child‑abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a developmentally appropriate site, including appearance, décor and cleanliness.
- Prepare and serve snacks and clean snack area.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to occasionally lift items up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
Qualifications- 16 years of age or older; 18 or older preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience with children (camps, childcare, tutoring, nannying).
- Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility, honesty.
- Experience planning and implementing group activities.
- Pre‑employment TB test and MMR vaccination required.
- Completion of minimum STARS required training, CPR/First Aid Training.
- Portable background check cleared in statewide registry MERIT.
- Training completed at hire or within 30 days.
- Knowledge of and experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
- Ability to speak any language in addition to English is helpful.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Tire on working in a collaborative environment.
- Very adaptable.
