Job Description

This posting will remain open to generate a pool of qualified student applicants for available positions during the semester.
To research and write news and other types of stories as assigned for the Ram Page.
Essential job duties include:

• Gather information for the stories through research and interviewing (with training).
• Network with other reporters and valuable interviewees to obtain vital information pertaining to assigned articles.
• Verify and check facts and statements for truthfulness and accuracy (with training).
• Prepare and write stories based on established journalistic standards and using the AP style (with training).
• Be able to perform basic operations with the Ram Page’s website (with training).
• Acquire basic competencies in photography in case of photographer absence (with training).
• As necessary, assist the Ram Page editor in relevant editorial tasks.
• Attend and participate in all of the Ram Page’s budget meetings as scheduled.
• Write columns and feature stories as assigned.
• Meet assigned deadlines and maintain consistent communication with colleagues.

Required Qualifications

• Must have appropriate writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Demands

• Must be able to carry up to 5 lbs.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors.

Salary $8.00/ hr
