Police Officer, Legal Counsel
Position will be open until filled.
We are currently seeking:
A Deputy City Marshal to join our team. In this role, you will perform a variety of law enforcement activities on behalf of the City Marshal's Office; serve warrants and assist in enforcing Municipal Court orders; issue citations; apprehend and arrest offenders; serve as Bailiff; provide court security; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements and Skills:
- Conducting a variety of law enforcement duties on behalf of the City Marshal's Office.
- Enforcing the orders and directives of the City's Municipal Court.
- Performing patrol duties and responding to calls for service.
- Issuing citations and arresting and apprehending offenders.
- Serving as Bailiff and providing court security services.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other staff, City departments, outside agencies, and the general public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent; and two years law enforcement experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
- Intermediate Officer Certification and Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCOLE) Certification is required.
- Must be currently up-to-date with TCOLE mandated training hours for the current training cycle, to include the sixteen (16) required alert hours.
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a court environment and in the field when conducting law enforcement duties on behalf of the Municipal Court.
- Subject to operating law enforcement vehicles, apprehending/restraining offenders, utilizing firearms, sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting of objects up to 94 pounds.
- Exposure to variable weather conditions, general driving hazards, firearms, hazardous chemicals, infectious diseases, and combative and/or violent individuals.
