Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing workplace safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role is crucial in minimizing risks and promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with MSHA regulations and industry standards.
- Hire and train new employees.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with MSHA.
- Provide training and development programs for employees, and new hires on safety practices, first aid, CPR, and emergency response.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor workers' compensation claims and assist in the management of return-to-work programs.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding safety concerns, providing guidance on best practices.
- Proven experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations, workers' compensation law, and environmental regulations (EPA).
- Strong understanding of occupational health principles and practices.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, or related safety training is highly desirable.
- Experience in training & development related to health and safety topics.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to promote a safe workplace culture. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about workplace safety to make a significant impact within our organization.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
